Fundación Las Médulas

The Las Médulas Foundation is expanding its range of services by providing companies that incorporate or improve their value-added services in the field of equality and diversity management, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the circular economy, carbon footprint and energy efficiency.

ESG - Sustainability

Today, companies need to minimise their social and environmental impacts throughout their value chain. Now more than ever, in a society that is increasingly responsible and committed to the planet, businesses must become agents for the transformation of values to address the challenges of global change.

The public demands that any business initiative incorporate environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors into its strategy. This is how society can know that the services and products they offer are in keeping with a commitment to people and the planet.

To cater to this growing public awareness, the Las Médulas Foundation wants to accompany the companies and organisations in the area around Las Médulas in their process of transformation towards more sustainable business models that help to boost the socio-economic dynamism of Las Médulas.

Nowadays, companies must align themselves with legal requirements regarding non-financial reporting and publicly disclose their actions in the different fields of activity to show their commitment to sustainability.

This analysis takes place within a measurable performance framework, where business activity is assessed against the ESG criteria of good corporate governance. These are quantitative principles that facilitate access to funding and public procurement, fostering local development by creating more sustainable enterprises.

Promoting the correct application of ESG criteria at Las Médulas and thus the socio-economic revitalisation of the area based on sustainability has motivated the Las Médulas Foundation to establish a collaboration agreement with Prysma,

a Spanish company integrated in the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR) since 2022.

Jointly developed ESG studies and reports are aligned with the latest developments in public policy, requirements and practical applications. In this way, they ensure that the companies stand out for their environmental, social and good governance approach in the public and private spheres of the Cultural and Natural Space of Las Medulas.

In addition to the services offered jointly to achieve future-looking companies in the Bierzo region, there are also those developed in the areas of compliance assessment, which are carried out through technical audits and inspections based on economic sustainability and productivity. On-site training services such as brand recognition, internal motivation, relationship building, etc. are also offered.
