Motorhome trip to
Las Médulas

Las Médulas is the perfect destination for motorhomers to enjoy the outdoors in front of an extraordinary landscape.

Useful insights:

In Ponferrada there is an area for motorhomes to park, next to the San Nicolás de Flüe pilgrim hostel (calle Obispo Camilo Lorenzo s/n), which has catering, food and toilets nearby.
In order to help locals and visitors feel comfortable during their stay, it is advisable to follow the regulations established to maintain respect for the visited environment and its inhabitants.
  • Like any visitor, you are advised to avoid leaving traces of your passage, to use the established stopping and parking areas and to contribute with your attitude to the social well-being of the inhabitants of the villages of Las Médulas.
  • Please note that free camping is not allowed in Spain. Any element protruding from the vehicle (awning, chairs, step, table, etc.) is sufficient to be considered as camping. Avoid making noise or spilling liquids in the environment. The most suitable place to camp is a campsite or the areas that have been designated and properly signposted.
  • The village of Las Médulas has three car parks accessible to motorhomes. The one closest to the village centre is free of charge, and next to it there is another one for a fee. The area around the cemetery is the most suitable parking area for motorhomes due to its size.
  • In Carucedo, ethe car park next to the Casa del Parque is ideal for parking motorhomes. It is also a perfect spot as it is very close to the recreational area of the lake.
  • However, as a general rule, a motorhome can be parked anywhere where parking is allowed and traffic regulations are observed.
  • When parking outside the rural areas of Las Médulas, it is advisable to take into account the dimensions of these vehicles. Parking them properly avoids disruption to traffic and allows neighbours easy access to their homes and neighbouring premises.
