Las Médulas are located 25 kilometres from Ponferrada, the capital of the Bierzo region, and 148 kilometres from the city of León. Among the largest cities on the peninsula, it is close to Madrid (425 kilometres) and Porto (426 kilometres) in Portugal.

Travelling by regular bus is one of the most comfortable options to get to Las Médulas. The routes with the most frequent timetables are those connecting Ponferrada with Oviedo, Madrid, Valladolid, Ourense, Lugo and A Coruña.

By road, the A6 motorway connects Madrid with the province of A Coruña, in Galicia, passing through Ponferrada. The N-536, N-120 and LE-164 are the main roads to reach the villages within the Cultural and Natural Space of Las Medulas.
